Kazakhstan jolted by 5th earthquake in last twenty-four hours

Two more earthquakes measuring 3.4 and 4.8 points on the Richter scale were registered in southeast Kazakhstan on Sunday, bringing the total number of tremors to five in the last twenty-four hours, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.

The latest earthquake was registered at 3:13 p.m. local time, with its epicenter located 85 km (53 miles) to the east of Almaty, the country’s former capital, the European seismologists said.  …
