Earthquake hits Grampians National Park

An earthquake has hit the Grampians National Park, near Ararat, in western Victoria.

Geoscience Australia says the earthquake measured approximately 3.8 on the richter scale.

Grampians resident Kerry Campbell says she felt the quake at about 1:30pm (AEST).

She says it felt as though a vehicle had crashed into her house.

“The whole house started to shake and rumble. I thought the ceiling was going to come down,” she said.

“[I] rushed outside. It was if a train had driven through the middle of the house.”
